Letter from May O'Rourke to Thomas Hardy, 1 June 1926

[Page 1]

The Old Vicarage: Dorchester.

Dear Mr Hardy:

I cannot find in Dorchester a card which I like well enough to send you for your Birthday, so please accept a plain paper-and-ink greeting! I will make it brief because I know you will have so many.

This is my third year with you, and dear Mrs Hardy, and Wessie, and I can frame no better wish than that the years ahead will make you as happy as my three years at Max Gate have made me.

Thank you for all your kindness!

Yours sincerely

May O'Rourke
